Google’s Search Console Bug: 11 Months of Inflated Impressions

Google disclosed on April 3, 2026 that Search Console over-reported impressions from May 13, 2025 through April 2026 — roughly 11 months of inflated data, announced in a 47-word changelog with no email or announcement post. AI Mode results were also blended into Search Console “Web” totals on June 17, 2025 with no native filter. WooCommerce stores running year-over-year SEO reports built decisions on a broken layer.
