About Seresa

Literally A Taste of History
Cherry by another name
The word Seresa is Tagalog for cherry — traced from Spanish cereza, Latin cerasum, and the Roman orchards that spread cherry trees across an empire. When Spain colonized the Philippines, cereza became seresa — a small word carrying centuries of culture across continents.
Philippine seresas aren’t quite the same as European cherries — adapted to tropical soil, they’re a different variety. But the name endures, a bridge between worlds.
