Full Answer
Stape removes the cloud infrastructure complexity: you do not need a Google Cloud account or DevOps skills to provision the server container. Stape provisions it for you. But once the container is live, everything inside it is Google Tag Manager — you still create and configure tags for Facebook CAPI, GA4 server hits, Google Ads conversions, and any other destination.
This matters practically because GTM server-side configuration is more complex than client-side GTM. Server clients, custom tags, forwarding rules, and event deduplication all require technical understanding. Agencies and developers use Stape because it reduces infrastructure overhead while keeping GTM's flexibility. Non-technical marketers and WooCommerce store owners without GTM skills will still find the tag management side difficult — Stape does not abstract that away.
